Every August is a song about quitting.

You’re getting back pain flare-ups again. You’re getting hives that are always triggered by stress and you think you don’t know why but secretly you do. Maybe it’s a job you loved. Maybe it’s a relationship that used to work. You can’t get the spark back. You want something different. There’s a guilt that comes with leaving. You keep thinking you’re abandoning the people in your life but maybe you’re really just abandoning an old dream. A past version of yourself. But the paradox is that gratitude can coexist with change. It doesn’t make it easy, but it does make it possible. You have to leap before you’re ready.
